WELCOME TO A BBT RECIPE CREATED IN CONJUNCTION WITH DEREK LAU!
“Normally I aint a fan of taro, but I can’t believe how good this taro is. It just works! It reminds me of a Malaysian drink called ‘Burbur cha cha’. If you haven’t had it- well sucks to be you. It’s taro-y, coconut-y, balls-y. It's taro-fic! Enjoy 😉”

Ingredients
2.5 tbsp brown sugar syrup (1.5 tbsp for cooking, 1 tbsp for the cup)
2 tbsp tapioca pearls
2 tbsp coconut jelly
½ cup ice
2 tsp taro powder
1 tsp coconut powder
Glass of milk
Instructions
Take on the Brown Sugar Tapioca Pearls
Prepare 250ml water in a pot, bring to a boil. Pour the pearls in.
Keep stove on low flame and stir occasionally for 10 minutes.
Pour in 1.5 tbsp of Brown Sugar Syrup into the pot and stir whilst letting the syrup and pearls cook for another 10 minutes. Turn off the stove when you have reached the desired level of chewiness.
Drain the water from the pearls.
Create the Taro and Coconut Base
Mix the taro and coconut powder with 2 tbsp of hot water and stir until dissolved.
Create the tea
Place half a glass of ice in a cup.
Add the cooked pearls into the glass. Add coconut jelly on top.
Pour in 1 tbsp of Brown Sugar Syrup into the glass. You can drip the syrup with a spoon along the insides of the glass.
Pour in the taro and coconut base.
Pour in cold milk.
